Boy Scout Troop 147 is located in Monrovia, California and is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area Council. The Troop has an active membership of around 40 Scouts and is very active, focusing on scouting skills, service and outdoor adventure. New scouts are always welcome!
What we do
At our weekly meetings, we focus on learning scouting skills and planning events. Community service projects are an important part of scouting, so they figure prominently in our schedule by way of both troop-organized and Eagle service projects.
During the school year, we have monthly outings. They range from single-day hikes or bike rides to two-night camping or backpacking trips. Outings can be anything from car camping to backpacking, bikepacking, skiing, rock-climbing, canoeing, desert camping and beach trips. Every summer we go to one of the area’s summer camps. We have plenty of outings suitable for our youngest scouts as well as challenging high adventure trips for the older, more experienced scouts.
When and where we meet
We meet on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 130 West Pomona Avenue in Monrovia.
